Have your say
Nadia and Sway are in bed, talking about how much they love each other. Sway’s pulled a sicky at work, but Nadia tells him it’s more like lovesickness! Sway asks Nadia to live with him, but this doesn’t go down well – how could Nadia disrespect Zak while her parents are away?
Zak’s on the phone to his parents. He tells Khatija to concentrate on Pervaiz – everything’s ok. He might rent out a room for extra money, as Nadia’s always out…and on cue, she appears! She chats to her parents, promising she’s not seen Sway. After she hangs up, Zak gives her an earful – how can she lie to her parents while she’s living under their roof? He threatens to tell them; it would’ve been best for everyone if they’d taken her to Pakistan and married her off. Nadia’s had enough! She wants to live somewhere she’s loved, and starts packing. She goes to Sway’s flat. He’s surprised to see her, and confused, but assures her he loves her.
Talib and Zak are at the mosque. Talib thanks Zak for his help with his car, and comments that Zak seemed quite deep in prayer. Talib hopes he’s got nothing on his mind; Zak tells him sometimes it’s difficult to be around people whose faith has lapsed.
Imran’s at the City Farm, and Jai turns up, not keen to get his hands, or feet, dirty. However, he puts some wellies on, and explains he’s there to get the shed up and running. Imran’s scathing; he’s not surprised Jai was motivated by money. Jai replies that Imran’s the same – they’re all in it to earn points with the community aren’t they.
Jai, Imran and Jo look through some paperwork; Jai realises it’ll be six months before they’re trading. Jo assures them their investment’s safe, especially if they’ve joined the City Farm Federation, who’ll help them get going. Jai and Imran suggest they’re not the people to speak to about finer details – they’re just keen supporters. They’re interrupted by a sow going into labour. The boys don’t know what to think, and are pretty squeamish, trying to volunteer each other to help. Imran’s moved by it all, thinking about what he’s brought into the world. Jai tells him that he can either moan about being stuck in a rut, or he can do something about it.
