Have your say

Mary’s fussing around, waiting for Ray and Mel to arrive. Siobhan tries to relax her when they suddenly appear. Siobhan brings over the drinks joking that anything they’ve heard about her is a lie, bringing on nervous laughter from everyone. They all start to discuss the wedding, and the talk turns to church weddings, which Ray and Mel are both in favour of, in contrast to Siobhan who says churches give her the creeps. Mary suggests a Registry Office, and why don’t they have the reception at the pub? Then there’s no need for pricey hotels! Bill seems quite happy with it all, but Mel and Ray aren’t happy, and begin to talk about the other reservations they have about the wedding, and the marriage in general. They’re worried that with all the businesses that Mary’s involved in, their Dad could end up subsidising it all. They can see why this instant family and its businesses are attractive to him, but they need to have a word before it’s too late.

Rozena appears at her parents’ house. She’s excited about the club, but her parents have heard from Imran that Sameer’s alone in Dubai, and she’s thrown her marriage away. Despite telling them that this isn’t true, and that Sameer’s fully supportive of her choice to stay behind, her parents are unconvinced, telling her that they won’t forgive her if she lets Sameer slip away. Mushtaq explains that he never wanted her involved in the club, and that they don’t need her either. Zenab warns her not to take Sameer for granted.

Zenab’s watching Mushtaq’s TV interview on the internet, and is upset by all the negative comments from rival fans, and local newspapers. She’s worried that Mushtaq just hasn’t got all the answers, but Mushtaq laughs it off – they’ll be in the Premier League soon and retiring to Pakistan! He asks Zenab to come to the match with him later, and shows her an invitation to a posh event they’ve been invited to which she’s very impressed with.

Mushtaq and Zenab watch the match – Rangers have lost and Zenab thinks the fans deserve more. She decides she needs to help Mushtaq to get the ground and club back on track, as long as he includes her in all decisions. Mushtaq’s delighted to have her by his side.
