Have your say

Mushtaq’s on his way to Silverhill Rangers in his car, listening to reports that the club’s about to be saved. His radio cuts out as his phone rings – it’s Zenab, telling him to back out – he could be jeopardising everything they’ve worked for. Mushtaq won’t hear any of it, and hangs up, surrounded by the press.

Zenab’s upset. She’s really worried they’ll lose the house because Mushtaq’s gambling with their security. However, Rozena’s excited; they could have everything to gain, not lose! Zenab’s angry – she deserves more respect in her own home.

Kuljit’s in the studio, when Arun lets himself in. He starts talking about problems with his events business. Kuljit’s got no time for this, telling him he can’t help him, and that he should have stuck with the pirate radio station. Arun’s taken aback by Kuljit’s outburst, and goes to leave. Kuljit immediately apologises – he’s really stressed as he’s got so much on. Arun can help – he offers to de-rig the studio and set up for the next session. Kuljit’s really grateful. Arun offers to help out more regularly, for free – he needs the experience, and Kuljit needs the assistance.

Mushtaq makes his speech to the players. He wants to get them on side, and the manager, David Mackey, gives him a rousing welcome. He’s then lead by David and Carrie towards the press conference. They discuss what he’s going to say, revealing that Mushtaq hasn’t told David he’s not expecting him to continue as manager. David’s furious, especially as he’d given him such a friendly welcome.

At the press conference, Mushtaq tells the media that he believes in British values of fair play, and the importance of where you come from. He wants to put something back into his community and believes this is the best way. He announces he’s sacked the manager, and finds himself struggling for answers to questions about why he’s done it. He’s then lead out onto the pitch for photos, holding a dirty football, to his disgust. He makes a fool of himself, falling over trying to juggle a football, but is then rushed away for a television interview. Again he finds himself tripping up over questions about sacking the manager, and this time asks if they can re-record that section…but unfortunately for him, the programme’s going out live!
