It’s the day Jaggy leaves Silver Hill to start his new job in Bury. Simran’s baking a cake for him when she’s surprised to find Nadia at her door. Sim’s angry that she was left in the lurch at the salon when Nadia went to Pakistan. But when Nadia asks for her job back Simran admits she could do with the help.
Zak is working in the garage when a young Muslim guy – Talib – drives in with a puncture. He’s in a hurry – he’s late to meet his sister. ‘You know what sisters are like?’ he says. Zak tells him he doesn’t have a sister.
Jaggy gets a message from Faye. She’s looking forward to welcoming him to Bury and she’s got rid of the kids so they can have an ‘early night’. But when Jaggy get to Simran’s he’s touched by the cake she’s baked and a present she gives him – a plate with Kesar’s handprints on it.
At work Zak gives Nadia short shrift on the phone. He tells Talib the car’s ready, and it’s on the house. Talib’s delighted and gives him his number – he’d like to return the favour sometime.
Zak gets home to find Nadia waiting for him. But he’s in no mood to welcome her home. He knows she got back from Pakistan yesterday and that she must have stayed with Sway last night. Their parents called to see if she got home safely; he’s furious he had to lie.
Jaggy says goodbye to Simran and Kesar and drives off to his new life. But when he gets to the motorway something makes him turn around. He ends up back at Sim’s and tells her he couldn’t leave Kesar and be a ‘weekend dad’. Faye calls his phone but Jaggy rejects the call.
