Sameer and Rozena wake up in the same apartment. They both are about to speak at the same time but then change the subject.
Fraser questions DI Tanner who says Imran was very emotional during the interview process, he was remorseful and wanted to tell them everything. Fraser wondered why he lied to them in the first interview? He supposed he didn’t want Rozena to have stand up in Court.
DI Tanner apologises to Rozena saying he wished he was of more use and there is a delay as they’re bringing in another witness. This turns out to be Karen. Thorne asks what Mickey’s character was like. Karen states that he was fine until things changed when his dad lost his job and Indians took over the factory. He was resentful that people from abroad had their jobs. He had a soft spot for Rozena but Imran was on the gang’s hit list. They were going to kill him to teach him a lesson and the only way this could be done was through Rozena. If she was ‘ruined for her wedding day’ then the Jilanis would get out of the area. A question arises about the knife and Karen says they always carried knives like that which were bought from Jilani stores.
Fraser and Thorne sum up their concluding statements for the jury. Zenab and Rozena are fraught with worry as they wait for the verdict. A distressed Gary comes running towards them and apologises to Rozena before running off again.
The verdict is reached and Mushtaq apologises to Dawn for the loss of Gary’s father’s life. Dawn hurls abuse at him again saying his son took her Mickey’s life. Mushtaq doesn’t want to rise to her taunts but tells her that she has no respect when she used to steal from his shop and Mickey had no respect when he tried to rape his daughter. He educates her by saying ‘pak’ means pure and clean, which is what his son and daughter are now and there is nothing she can do about it.
