Before Court begins, Thorne advises Imran to remain calm as they don’t want a repeat of yesterday. Imran is frightened of what the Prosecution will say to Rozena. Thorne reassures Imran that she is good too and Fraser won’t have it his own way.
Sameer checks Rozena is ok before she goes in and reassures her after today, she can lay it all to rest. Rozena is about to get tearful but contains her tears. She doesn’t want her mum and dad to hear about what happened but Sameer reassures her that he’ll be there when it’s over. She hugs him and tells him she missed him.
Gary approaches Karen, Mickey’s mate. He wants to know more about his dad. Karen says he has the same eyes, cheeky. Gary wants to know why she looked so scared when she first saw him, she couldn’t get out the house fast enough.
Rozena tells her version of events that night saying she only gave Mickey free cigarettes so that he would stop causing trouble. She thought she could talk to him as they knew each other at school. She thought she would be safe at the allotments as he suggested they meet there and it was close to home. On the verge of tears she tells them how he was touching her and hitting her and she thought he would kill her.
Karen tells Gary that Mickey could be funny and had a great singing voice. Gary imagined them going to the pub together and the football. Karen says he got into a bad crowd, things weren’t easy for him with his family so he used to go off the rails. Gary asks whether his dad was capable of doing that to a woman. She says she doesn’t know which Gary takes as a ‘yes’ and storms out.
Fraser then tears into Rozena, she said she just had a schoolgirl crush on Mickey so Imran found out about their relationship and saved her from ruining the family honour. Rozena says she’s glad he’s dead as he tried to rape her.
Sameer offers to drive Rozena home she insists on staying at the flat so Sameer offers to book a room for himself at a hotel but she doesn’t want to be on her own, and begs him to stay.
