Bill and Sean are shopping for Mary’s engagement ring. Bill seems to be having second thoughts about the whole thing but Sean reassures him it’s just nerves. He tells Bill he’s throwing them a party to make it official – it’s a surprise though, not a word to Mary. He makes a few phone calls and gets preparations underway. Kamla’s organizing food, Kuls is sorting the music and Gramps is supplying his special punch. It’s all set for tomorrow afternoon.
Jaggy treats Faye and the kids to pizza before they go shopping. The kids run riot round the restaurant as the two of them reminisce. After lunch they wander round the shops and Faye’s son spots some fancy trainers he likes. Jaggy gets his wallet out to buy them but Faye protests, she doesn’t need Jaggy’s handouts! She puts her foot down when he argues and says he can buy them tea and cakes if he insists. Jaggy agrees and they enjoy the rest of the day out. Faye kisses Jaggy goodbye with the kids crashed out in the car. She says they’ll have to do this again, and next time maybe he could bring Kesar.
Sway takes his life in his hands and calls at the Akhtars. Unfortunately it’s Khatija who opens the door and she tells him to get lost. Nadia hears raised voices and comes to see what’s happening but she doesn’t want to upset her dad so she stays out of sight. Sway calls to Nadia that they need to talk. Khatija threatens to call the police if he won’t go and slams the door in his face. Later, Jas calls round. She thinks Nadia is mad, rushing off to Pakistan, leaving Sway and her new job. Isn’t she worried her parents might try and set her up with someone over there? Jas isn’t fooled by Nadia, she knows that her and Sway aren’t over yet so there’s unfinished business to sort out before she goes anywhere.
