Have your say
Shirley suggests visiting Pervaiz but Sway doesn’t want to make things worse. Sway leaves Nadia a voice message though hoping that they are ok and if they need anything to just ask. He just wishes he could be there with her.
Khatija tells Dr Masud that they have sedated Pervaiz. Dr Masud reassures her that a general anesthetic will give his body time to recover and he is in the best hands. Khatija believes they are being punished because of the Nadia and Sway business. Dr Masud insists she have a break, he’ll sit with Pervaiz.
Mushtaq and Zenab visit Pervaiz, Zenab finds it all too much and rushes out as it brings back memories of Mushtaq being ill. Mushtaq offers to sit with him if the nurses will let him.
Khatija bumps into Zenab in the toilets and lays into her saying Pervaiz is not dead yet, no thanks to her and Mushtaq. Pervaiz is suffering because of the accident at the factory. Zenab is exasperated, that was 30 years ago and Mushtaq has since paid for their flights to Pakistan, money for Hajj and even looked after their kids.
Mushtaq reads the newspaper to Pervaiz until Dr Masud walks in. Mushtaq unloads the guilt he is feeling by telling Dr Masud about what happened years ago. Pervaiz did his shift as well as his own because he was on the verge of starting the business and the foreman wouldn’t give him time off. A Forklift carrying empty pallets crushed him, he was rushing to get their work done. Dr Masud reassures him he shouldn’t feel responsible, it was an accident.
Zak arrives to tell Dr Masud that the fire investigators say the fire was started by a lighted cigarette. Outside Khatija approaches Mushtaq and Zenab, it’s time they paid for what happened. Zenab insists she speak to Zak about how the fire started but Khatija continues, her husband’s lungs were damaged years ago and if he dies, it’ll be down to them. In the car home, Mushtaq blames himself despite Zenab thinking they’re not to blame. He prays Pervaiz will make it and he will do everything to put things right, he owes him.
