Jas and Vinnie are working on the partition display but Krishan wants Jas to take him home. Jas tells him to play outside for a bit longer. Jai sees Krishan playing football and tells him he has been worried about him. Jai sneakily checks Krishan hasn’t told anyone about Jai getting angry with him last week. Krishan says he has been thinking about what Jai said. It must have been hard for Jai being scared of his dad. Jai says it wasn’t easy and suggests they try some headers. Krishan says he hasn’t got time besides they give him headaches!
Jai later asks Sway if his gum has centre pitch at the mela but Sway says that is usually allocated to the youth group. Jai reminds Sway the youth group didn’t provide the funding and he didn’t donate generously for nothing. Once Jai leaves Mindy describes Jai as a creep. Sway changes the subject saying he is worried about the partition event. Mindy tells him to concentrate on the mela. She has everything under control.
Mushtaq and Mani have a chat. Mushtaq suggests Mani take a few days off for his birthday and then asks if his friend is bothered about approaching sixty-five. Mani admits it does make him feel old. Mushtaq wonders if Mani will be having a party but Mani says he is planning something very low-key. Mani then asks how Imran is doing. Mushtaq says he is still drinking. Mani admits he feels guilty that he hasn’t been to see Imran but Mushtaq reminds him he has enough on his plate.
Back at Parkside Jas and Vinnie are wrapping up for the day. Jas tells Sway they’ll be back early tomorrow and they head off. Sway is worried about the council’s expectations of the partition display seeing as they funded it. Sway tells Mindy to get herself home. He needs to re-do the mela layout. Jai is their biggest sponsor this year and should get the prime spot.
Vinnie tells Jas its Mani’s birthday on Thursday and suggests they throw him a party. They can have it at the restaurant and get Jodie and Kuls to help organise it. Jas reckons it’s a brilliant idea and Mani will love it….
