Sway takes Gramps some breakfast in bed. Gramps says it’s good that Sway will be with him at the end. Sway says he is off to collect the pastor from the station and won’t be long. Gramps suggests Sway might benefit from a chat with the pastor too but Sway says they need to concentrate on Gramps now. Once Sway leaves Winston the cat decides to escape through an open window and Gramps shouts in vain for him to come back inside.
Shazia and Dr Masud have been shopping. Shazia wonders why he has bought air fresheners when he already has cans in the cupboard. Later Shazia tells Danyal she is worried about her dad being so forgetful lately. What if it’s something serious? Danyal reckons its just old age. They are interrupted by Arun ringing Danyal to confirm their business meeting at a club. Arun thinks they should check it out generally. They even do a ‘gay friendly’ night on Fridays. Danyal jokes that he would have expected Arun to be freaked out by something like that!
Sway tells the pastor it’s hard to see his grandfather bedridden like this. The pastor says Shirley is beside herself but all they can now is hope and pray. Gramps needs to find peace within and it’s important for him to find comfort in the familiar. The pastor says Gramps just wants what’s right for Sway despite his feelings about Sway and Islam.
Sway and the pastor get to the flat and discover Gramps isn’t in bed. He isn’t in the bathroom either and Sway panics. When he left Gramps could barely move and now there’s no sign of him. Sway is starting to think the worst when Gramps walks through the front door larger than life with Winston in tow. And to make matters worse Sway discovers he has bottles in a bag. Gramps sheepishly admits he stopped at the off license seeing as it was on the way. Gramps goes on to say he was doing all this for the right reasons. Sway can’t believe his ears. Did Gramps honestly pretend he was dying just to stop Sway from converting to Islam?
