It’s quiz night at the Golden Crown. Rita gets annoyed when Pradeep persuades Kuljit to join them or they will lose to Jas and Vinnie. Vinnie has Krishan on standby on the internet if they get stuck but Jas doesn’t want to cheat. She notices some paint on his hands and knows he’s been working on his art but he won’t let her see it.
Kuljit notices Rita is not herself. Pradeep says working with a Fostering and Adoption agency has been emotionally draining for her and she’s not as tough as she thinks. When Kuljit asks Rita about her work, she gets annoyed that Pradeep discussed it but admits she gets scared of the responsibility, a few miss translated lines can lead to people’s lives being affected. Kuljit says he had noone when his dad was ill so she can’t give up. She later tells Pradeep she saw things from Kuljit’s point of view and apologises for going on about it.
Brian’s phone rings as he is asking the quiz questions and it’s Zenab who needs his help in finding Imran, he’s been out all day and she has no idea where he is. Brian agrees and hands the questions to Pete.
Jas forces Vinnie to show her his artwork and her reaction is not what he expected. He is sorry to disappoint her but he doesn’t do pretty pictures. Jas thinks it is like a collage. Vinnie explains how he loves to find ordinary things and throw them together. She is disappointed that the paints she bought him were a waste of time but all is not lost, as he has broken the brushes and nailed the paint tubes on.
Brian finds Imran near the off licence and takes him home. Zenab encourages Brian to have coffee with her and he mustn’t tell Mushtaq, he won’t be able to cope with it. Brian explains he envies Mushtaq, man who has it all. He used to tell him, if he had a wife as beautiful as her, he wouldn’t be stuck in the office at night. He gets embarrassed at what he has just said and leaves.
