Jas is doing her first shift at the café is when Pradeep arrives needing help with the City Farm. Pradeep asks how it feels living in the narrow boat and Jas says it’s great. Pradeep reckons it’s good to have a break but at some point she’ll need something more permanent and that includes work as well as living arrangements. Jas changes the subject saying she needs to get back to her customers.
Over at the hospital the Doctor tells Carla and Rita that Mrs Doshi’s liver function test came back negative. This confirms she hasn’t been drinking heavily but her reflexes and lack of balance could give the impression of being drunk. The doctor found a more serious problem during the CT scan and he needs Rita to translate to Mrs Doshi while he explains. The doctor relays that Mrs Doshi has a brain tumour causing her to break down in Rita’s arms. The doctor reassures her they will do all they can.
Jas has just finished work when Nadia turns up. Its obvious Nadia is upset about something so Jas tells her to come out with it. Nadia reckons Jas had no business telling Jodie confidential things about Nadia and Sway. Jas admits she got carried away whilst drunk and apologises. She invites Nadia to hers but Nadia needs to buy her mum a birthday present. Later, Vinnie and Jas talk about the graduation dinner on Friday. Jas says it will be nice for the new graduates to celebrate with their mates. Jas then hands Vinnie some art stuff as a present. Vinnie thanks her and asks about Uncle Jai. He wants to know everything.
Rita tells Carla that apparently Mrs Doshi was ill for six months but couldn’t face seeing the doctor. Mrs Doshi has asked Rita to break the news to her husband as she is too emotional. Carla says that’s fine and they head off. Mr Doshi can’t believe his wife never told him she was feeling ill. Carla tells Rita to tell him they will do whatever they can to help the family through this. Carla offers to drive Mr Doshi to the hospital and tells him not to worry about the children. They are being well looked after…..
