Rita has been worried about the Doshi children all weekend. Carla says at least they are getting contact time together despite being split up whilst in foster care. Mrs Doshi is still in hospital and needs more tests but once discharged she will find temporary accommodation for her and the children. Carla won’t risk her or the children getting hurt by the father again.
Kuls tells Jodie the Arts Consortium bid fell through and this means his recording studio can’t be in the warehouse. Jodie suggests this is a way for Kuls to find a venue not associated with Sway and she has an idea. What about the café? All she has to do is sort out a music license. Kuls suggests he could talk to Rozena. Jodie needs to get off as she is training Jas up for a few shifts over the summer but insists Kuls go right now. Rozena is happy for Kuls to take a unit next to the café but warns him any structural changes will have to be done at his own expense. Kuls says he budgeted for all of that in his business plan anyway.
Rita and Carla visit the children but the eldest child Aarti is still cautious. Carla says their mum and dad are missing them. Mrs Patel and Carla head off to see what the boys are doing whilst Rita tries to get Aarti and Haya to open up to her. Haya is easily won over at Rita’s suggestion of playing in the paddling pool but Aarti isn’t convinced. Rita suggests they sit and watch instead. Later Carla tells Rita they will collect extra clothes for the children when they go to see Mr Doshi later.
Rita and Carla break the news to Mr Doshi that he won’t be allowed to live with his wife and children. Rita is shocked when he reacts in Gujerati saying Mrs Doshi is the danger not him. She drinks and falls over and that’s how Ravi got hurt. Later Carla tells Rita they still need to explore why she might be drinking. Carla then gets a call from the hospital saying they need Carla and an interpreter so they can give Mrs Doshi her test results. She asks Rita to come with her….
