Rozena tidies up the apartment after Sameer has left for Dubai, chatting to Rita on the phone at the same time until she hears a knock on the door. Hearing Jai calling her she quickly ends the call. She turns around, shocked to find him watching her. The door was open and he’s cheekily let himself in. He breezily asks if Rozena’s got some coffee to spare. Jai tries his charm but Rozena’s keen to be rid of him and hustles him out with a jar of instant. Jai shocks her with his parting shot though when he announces he’s bought Kamla a flat in the block, he’ll be looking after her from now on!
Kuljit hears something on the radio about the ‘Family Wanted’ campaign. It reminds him of his conversation with Mogs and starts to tell Jodie about mentoring. He stops himself though, remembering Rachel’s comment about him and his ‘causes’. Jodie prompts him to carry on and tells him if he feels he should do, then go for it. Jodie reminds him, she’s not like Rachel. Just then Mani arrives and hands Kuljit a cheque for £20,000. Kuljit’s speechless; he wasn’t expecting it all at once. Mani’s excited about the project though and keen for them to get started. Kuljit asks Jodie to go with him to the bank to pay the cheque in but Jodie’s got other plans. She calls on Nadia to confront her with what Jas told her. She reckons Nadia ought to tell Sway how she really feels about him converting. Nadia is livid that Jas betrayed her confidence and tells Jodie to mind her own business. Sway is converting whether his mates like it or not and Nadia will back him all the way.
Jodie calms down from the argument by tending the tree she planted for her mum. She wonders what Stella would have done in her shoes. Kuljit joins her and Jodie tells him she’s been thinking how similar their situations are, both losing their mums and having to find their dads. Mani comes into the garden with a tray of lemonade and together, the three of them drink a toast to Stella
