Kamla has decided to boycott the gym re-opening and is annoyed at the lack of support for her stand. Mary can’t keep away but she can’t face it alone so Rita and Pradeep are going with her. Mary tries to persuade Kamla to change her mind but she sticks to her guns.
Arun tries to build bridges with Danyal but Danyal’s still wary. He shows no interest in Arun’s enthusiastic plans for University gigs and warns Arun not to organise anything without checking with him first.
A big crowd has gathered for the re-opening of the gym, everyone is dying to know who the new owners are. Pradeep is impressed by the lavish spread. He’s heard about the donation the owners made to the Mela and is hoping for a similar windfall for the City Farm. Nadia’s also trying to cash in, handing round Beauty Magic leaflets. Mary is scathing of the improvements the new owners have made. She reckons all they’ve done is rip out the boxing stuff and replace it with fancy equipment and splash a bit of paint around.
Finally, the new owner makes an appearance and to Rita and Pradeep’s horror they see Jai take the microphone. Mary immediately phones Kamla telling her to come straight over. Rita is fuming at her wayward brother’s shock reappearance and ready for a fight but Pradeep, Arun and Mary plead with her not to give him the satisfaction. After making his speech Jai comes over and takes delight in winding Rita up even more. Arun and Pradeep have to drag her away before she lays into him. Jai calmly turns his attention to Mary. He’s sorry Pete didn’t come; he had a proposition for him. The gym needs a manager and who better than Pete.
