Dr Masud phones Kamal to ask if Kamal has changed his mind about moving in. Kamal says he hasn’t and just needs to find the right moment to tell that Akhtars he is leaving. It’ll take a few more days.
Hannah is engrossed in playing with her train track. Brian meets Hannah for the first time and wins her over with a cheque for fifty pounds. Mary tells Brian they ought to get going as the auction starts soon. They promise to ring Pete as soon as they have any news and dash off.
Pete is keeping busy by cleaning the coffee machine. Bill tells him to see all this as a minor setback and asks about Pete’s plans for the future. Pete says he hasn’t given it much thought but knows he couldn’t cope without Mary. Pete just hopes they get a decent price for the gym so he can pay off his debts. Bill reckons Pete will be fine and just needs to realise there is a new world waiting for him out there.
A stressed Kamal goes to see Tariq but gets annoyed when Tariq won’t listen to what he has to say. According to Tariq there is only one way for Kamal to deal with his stress and that is to visit another ‘lady friend’. He laughs that there are plenty more where the last lot came from. Kamal tells Tariq exactly what he thinks of him. How can he use those women to make money for himself? Kamal says he doesn’t need his help anymore but Tariq laughs louder saying they’ll see about that won’t they.
Mary and Brian discover the gym is the first thing on the auction list. The auctioneer reads out the spec and then asks for bids on the guide price. Brian prays that the guide price won’t be lowered and they are both relieved when it isn’t. The bidding continues and Mary is delighted with the outcome. The only thing is the bidding is carried out by someone over the phone so they have no idea who the new owner is. Brian says they’ll find out soon enough…..
