Kamla frets about her outfit for the IIFAs but Vinnie’s anxious to get going before they miss all the free champagne. Roopa is put out that her Ba dashes off without wishing her luck in her exam.
Nadia and Sway search for a birthday present for Pervaiz. Sway wants to get something special and shows Nadia a rehl he‘s seen. Sway’s not sure he should buy something so personal but Nadia thinks it’s perfect.
At the Akhtars Khatija cooks up a storm for Pervaiz’s birthday lunch with a little help from Kamal. Khatija is dying to know where he’s been disappearing to at all kinds of strange hours. Kamal dodges her questions mumbling something about staying with a friend. Khatija doesn’t believe him but she’s too busy to press him further. Nadia and Sway arrive for lunch with Pervaiz’s present. To Sway’s delight Pervaiz absolutely loves it and rushes off to put his Qur’an on it straight away. Khatija mentions that she rang Shirley about the sleeping arrangements for their visit. Nadia is mortified but Sway reassures Khatija that his mum’s strict rules mean everything will be above board!
At the IIFAs, Kamla and Vinnie strain to catch sight of celebrities. Kamla wishes she’d worn her comfy loafers as her feet are killing her. Vinnie takes pity on her and dashes off to try and blag their way into a VIP area. Pleased, Kamla thinks reflects that Vinnie is similar to Jai, making such a fuss over her! They find a marquee with some food left over and make themselves comfortable. Vinnie’s sorry he couldn’t get them into the awards. He airily explains that he could have got in but he couldn’t leave Kamla alone.
Roopa joins Bina who’s waiting at the school gates. Bina’s surprised, Roopa’s exam wasn’t supposed to finish for another hour. In tears Roopa blurts out that she walked out. She thinks that she was going to fail anyway. Bina tries to persuade her to go back but Roopa has convinced herself that she’s just too stupid and she’ll mess it up, just like she messes up everything….
