Have your say
Khatija begins to tell Kamla how Mary has not appreciated all of the work she put into Brady’s News. Kamla begins to understand why Mary has to keep the business within the family. She adds that Mary is only looking after Pete. Later, Khatija then calls Shirley to check whether Nadia will be sleeping in the guest room, and not with Sway when she visits London.
Kamla is quick to tell Mary that Khatija has been playing the sympathy card and is telling customers that Mary treated her badly. Mary is furious at this and plans on getting the problem sorted out once and for all.
At the Akhtars, Zak walks in on Kamal watching television coverage of a raid at a brothel. Zak questions why the police have arrested the women working there, he sees them as the victims. Kamal excuses himself and Zak answers a call. He learns that his application for the apprenticeship has been rejected. Khatija thinks that it may help if he were to shave his beard. However, Zak is quick to defend his choice.
Mary rushes up to Khatija, knowing that she has been spreading gossip about her. In light of this, Mary has reduced Khatija’s working notice from four weeks to two!. Later, Mary bumps into Kamal outside and notices that he is looking very low. She offers that Kamal come round to her flat to talk.
Zak nearly convinces Sway to join the cricket team. However, when Sway learns that Kuljit is also on the team, Sway quickly changes his mind. He insists that he has a lot of work to get through.
Kamal eventually tells Mary that visited Miloska in the brothel. He struggles to go through the details. He adds that he just wanted to someone to talk to. Kamal begins to feel guilty about not helping her. With the raid being all over the news, he can’t be around the Akhtars, after all they have done for him. He begins to cry and Mary calms him down. She suggests that he stay in the spare room for a while.
