Shazia and the boys have come to spend Dr Masud’s birthday with him. Danyal shoots off straightaway though to meet Arun. Shazia receives a worrying phone call; the women’s refuge has let some staff go because they can’t afford to pay them. It means the centre can’t operate 24hrs anymore. Shazia feels she should have done more to help.
Sway calls on Kuljit to fill him in on Gramps and Shirley’s visits. Kuljit pretends it’s all news to him. Sway is furious with Sarah thinking this is all her fault. Kuljit defends her, feeling guilty that Sarah’s getting the blame for his own meddling. Sway’s so annoyed though that eventually Kuljit comes clean. Sway is livid, he demands to know what right Kuljit had to go behind his back. Kuljit’s late for work and tries to get away but Sway hasn’t finished. He reckons Kuljit can’t handle the fact he’s moved on while Kuljit is stuck in the past, clinging onto childish dreams. Kuljit’s heard enough and storms downstairs.
Dr Masud and his party have arrived and Jodie is serving their meal when Nadia comes in looking for Mani. Jodie asks if everything is OK after the dramas over the last couple of days. Nadia retorts spikily everything is fine – no-one’s coming between her and Sway!
Kuljit rushes in full of apologies with Sway right behind him still ranting. Jodie hisses at them to keep it down but the pair continue their argument in the middle of the restaurant. Nadia tells Jodie it’s none of her business. She accuses Jodie of trying to break her and Sway up because she’s still after Sway herself. Jodie tells Nadia not to be so ridiculous. Kuljit and Sway’s argument is out of hand by now as they wrestle each other over the tables. They land on Dr Masud’s table sending food flying and covering the family in dahl! Danyal and Rehan leap up to pull them apart.
Jodie helps Kuljit upstairs to tend his wounds. Kuljit is dreadfully upset by the fight, how can he and Sway have come to this? He winces as Jodie gently kisses his cuts better but gradually those kisses develop into something deeper that neither of them are able to stop…
