Gramps arrives in Silver Street determined to sort Sway out. He’s told Shirley he’s visiting friends in Camberwell. Gramps heads straight for the Akhtars where he’s confronted by Khatija. Gramps barges past Khatija into the house introducing himself on the way before even Khatija can get a word in. Ever polite, Pervaiz begins to tell Gramps it’s nice to meet him but Gramps is in no mood for niceties and lays straight into them, wanting to know what they’ve done to his grandson. Khatija and Pervaiz are confused when Gramps accuses them of brainwashing Sway. Pervaiz tries to calm the situation but Gramps rages at them both that they have led Sway astray, pushing their extremist religious nonsense onto a good Christian boy. The Akhtars put Gramps straight that it was Sway’s decision to convert, nothing to do with them. Gramps shouts at them that its because they’ve made Sway feel so bad about his colour that he’ll try anything to please them. Khatija’s had enough of Gramps’ accusations and strikes back, accusing Sway of brainwashing Nadia.
Kamal hears the slanging match. He tries to calm them down but they ignore him, so Kamal phones Sway. Sway goes straight round to drag Gramps away. Gramps won’t leave peacefully though and as a parting shot he commiserates with Pervaiz ‘for being married to that’ pointing at Khatija.
Mary shows Brian photos from their visit to the fair. Brian is pleased that Mary and Siobhan are making an effort to get on now. It’s never completely happy families though. Brian reckons Pete’s the one with problems now; he’s always in a bad mood these days. Sway and Gramps walk into the Golden Crown. As they talk over a beer Sway tries to explain to Gramps that his interest in Islam is genuine but Gramps just won’t believe him. In the end Sway gives up and phones his mum to let her know where Gramps is. Before he’s managed to explain everything though Shirley tells Sway she’s on her way to sort things out and hangs up before Sway can stop her!
