Rita arrives with some pampering birthday pressies for Rozena and apologises for their Italian having to be cancelled. Rozena understands, she knows her mum can be very persuasive. They hear Imran laughing and Rozena’s thinks Pradeep’s City Farm has kept Imran sane.
Imran stuffs his face at dinner and Zenab is a bit embarrassed as he is talking with his mouth full. Rita mentions how Ba thinks the builders are wolf whistling at her. When she was young, her and Siobhan were always in that shop buying sherbet fountains after school. Mushtaq tells everyone it was his first shop.
Imran quizzes Pradeep about the proposal again and even Pradeep is getting irritated. Pradeep explains they are under ‘any other business’ in the agenda. Imran gets angry, everyone will be desperate to get home by then. Pradeep says he’s thinking of presenting the proposal in person tomorrow night anyway. Imran suggests they work through the questions together as he knows what they will ask. Mushtaq tells Imran to leave Pradeep alone, he hasn’t finished his meal. Zenab says she’ll be there anyway.
Rozena and Rita are in the kitchen and Rita talks about her job. Pradeep gets annoyed at Rita later, he was giving her the signal to leave for home but she ignored him. Pradeep thinks the party was just another chance for Zenab to lord it over them and Imran was treating him like he was an imbecile. Zenab is only getting involved in the City Farm to get her photo in the papers.
Mushtaq asks Imran how he is feeling about the trial, he shouldn’t worry though, justice will be done. Imran tells his dad to go to Pakistan, it’s about what his family needs over there, they will be fine. Mushtaq then rings Shazia. Shazia says she would have called about his brother but didn’t want to intrude but Mushtaq remembers that she sounded upset too. Shazia reassures him, it was just a family squabble. Mushtaq tells her he is going away, he wanted her to hear it from him, he’s going to Pakistan.
