Have your say

Mary’s got something on her mind. She’s anxious about meeting Mel and Ray. Bill tries to reassure her, telling her he’s booked a restaurant for the meal, which worries Mary even more – she wanted it to be low key, and asks if they can change the booking to Saffron Rays. This annoys Bill – he’s done his best to fit into her life, and it’s about time she did the same for him.

Mary visits Simran to ask for some style advice, as she’s out of touch with the world of makeup. She’s delighted with the results and asks for some fashion advice too. Simran is curious about why she’s after a new look, and Mary explains she’s meeting Bill’s kids and wants to make a good impression. Mary asks after Kesar – she misses him, and tells Simran that Pete misses him too, and she’s sorry things didn’t work out. Simran says that Pete always made such an effort with Kesar, and that Bill will also be happy that Mary’s doing the same for his kids.

Kuljit’s come to visit Neera and his father. He can see his father’s upset at what’s happened with Rajvinder, but tells him firmly he needs to accept that family don’t treat each other that way, and to stop making excuses for her. Amrit eventually agrees, although it upsets him to do so. Neera tells Kuljit he should be really proud of himself as he’s given her and Amrit the chance of a new life together. Later, over dinner, Amrit apologises for the way he’s treated Kuljit. They are both moved to tears by the emotion of it all, and vow to start again. Neera explains that she and Amrit also plan to start again, by moving to the coast. They ask Kuljit about his plans for the future. He tells them about his dream of starting up a recording studio, but that it’ll cost about £30,000. Amrit offers him the money, and Neera agrees – they can afford it, as well as moving to the coast, as they’ll be putting their money together for their move. Kuljit is unsure, as he doesn’t think they can afford it, but Amrit insists.
