Simran shows Jodie photos of the wedding rehearsal she helped Nadia with. Simran reckons if she hadn’t been there it could have all blown up. Nadia needs to work on her diplomatic skills. It didn’t go down well when she suggested bleaching the bride’s mother’s moustache! Simran really enjoyed being back at work though and it’s given her some ideas about her future.
Later at the Vaisakhi procession Jaggy and Simran bump into Jodie again. She’s looking for Kuljit. Simran teases her about the two of them being so close lately. She wonders if Neel should be worried. Jodie protests that she and Kuljit are just mates, but Neel probably wouldn’t be bothered anyway. He hardly emails her anymore and Jodie can’t remember the last time he phoned.
Danyal is still upset and angry. He wants to hit out at his dad and picking up the phone he thinks he knows just the way to do it. At first Danyal can’t speak when Akram answers. When he recovers himself he begins to thank his dad for giving him the money for equipment for his club nights … the gay society will really appreciate it. Akram is confused, Danyal doesn’t sound like himself. He warns Danyal against becoming involved in that scene. Danyal mocks his dad’s obvious homophobia and nastily tells him it’s too late … he’s gay. Akram doesn’t believe him and demands that Danyal shows him some respect. Danyal tells him he doesn’t deserve any respect. He throws the PDA Akram bought him to the floor and stamps on it. Danyal rushes past his granddad in tears. Just then the phone rings and Dr Masud answers … it’s Akram wondering what on earth is going on. Dr Masud lets rip at Akram, and he quickly realises his secret is out. Dr Masud warns him, if Akram comes anywhere near his family again … he’ll regret it.
