Have your say
Danyal is nursing a hangover and chats to Shazia about the money his dad’s given him. He has business plans and he wants the talented Arun involved.
Arun is also nursing a hangover. Kamla tells Pradeep that she took a message form Animal Welfare and the goat and garden are now registered. Arun accuses his dad of being a goat dealer! Pradeep does not find this funny. Rita is mad, all the kids were touching Mooli, they could have got sued if one of the kids got ill.
PC Higgins arrives for Rita and whilst she is out of earshot, Pradeep grabs the chance to have a delicate word with him, he wants it to stay between them. Pradeep tells him that the siege shook her up more than she’ll admit and she’s too embarrassed to ask but can she be used for safe community initiatives for a few months until she gets her confidence back? Later, PC Higgins tells Pradeep that he’ll line up some community stuff in libraries and schools for Rita.
Shazia meets Lynne at the refuge and is greeted by Karen, a volunteer who Lynne says didn’t speak for a fortnight when she first arrived there, scared that her ex-partner will come for her. The place is a lifesaver for most of them.
Vinnie visits Kamla to see how she is and to tell her that he’s been making calls, he’s got some numbers in East London which he’ll try for her. A tearful Kamla offers him the money for the calls. He’ll have cake instead!
Lynne tells Shazia that if she revealed she was a victim herself, they could all see how she came back from it. Shazia reckons people would think she was playing the sympathy card. Lynne suggests a journalist she knows who is sympathetic but Shazia gets annoyed, this is her personal life that will be made public, she may help others but has a responsibility to her own family too, her dad and sons don’t even know.
Danyal notices Shazia is upset. She says she just worries that people will get close to him because she is an MP, things get complicated when private and public lives mix.
