Vinnie takes charge of the group in Brick Lane. It’s his patch and he knows all the best places to go. The ladies are shocked at the prices in the shops. Shazia explains the area has become a tourist trap. The council is considering a similar regeneration project around Silver Street. Arun and Vinnie think it’s a great idea but the older residents aren’t so sure. While they argue Kamla sneaks away to meet Spike.
Kamla finally finds the snooker hall where Spike is waiting. Straight away he asks her for cash which Kamla hands over in an envelope. Kamla desperately asks him about Jai while Spike counts the notes. Angrily he tells Kamla Jai owes him five times the amount. Kamla pleads with him until Spike reveals her waster son hangs around various pool halls around London, and that’s all he’s saying until she comes up with more money.
Meanwhile the rest of the group is getting hungry. Vinnie takes over again; he knows a great place, really Desi! The group trudges after him but after a while it’s obvious he’s lost. He suggests going back to where they started but Sway’s had enough. He leads the group into the nearest restaurant. Inside, Sway catches Pervaiz alone and thanks him for helping out at Beyond the Sofa week. Pervaiz puts him straight, he was helping Simran, it was nothing to do with Sway.
Vinnie stomps off determined to find his restaurant but instead he bumps into Kamla. She’s clearly upset and confides in Vinnie about her meeting with Spike. Crying she tells Vinnie what a fool she’s been. Vinnie takes her under his wing and tells her that they’ll search for Jai together, Vinnie’s got the contacts and it’ll be fun…
