On being presented with the evidence, Rajvinder protests that Gurmail is a liar and a swindler. The Master tells her to stop interrupting and summarises his findings. The Court decides that there are two instances when Amrit’s money has been used unlawfully. The hospital has no record of her alleged visits so her story about the car is in doubt. Gurmail’s statement however proves that she has used money for herself. Rajvinder must be replaced as receiver and the money she has misused will be deducted from her security bond. Finally the Master tells Rajvinder the case will be referred to the police. Amrit becomes very upset as he realises his sister is in big trouble. Kuljit tries to calm him but Amrit pushes him away saying he wishes Kuljit had never found him. Amrit wants to go home with his sister but Rajvinder claims she’s too upset and he should go with Neera. Kuljit snaps that says it all, now the money’s run out she doesn’t want to know.
Hilary phones Rita but she doesn’t want to tell him what’s happened over the phone. Hilary tells her to come straight to the college. Rita wastes no time and is soon sitting in Hilary’s office pouring out the whole story. Just then Rita’s phone rings and she’s amazed to hear Nalini at the other end. Rita tells Nalini firmly she can’t help her. Nalini will have to phone the police and speak to PC Higgins. Hilary praises Rita on the way she dealt with Nalini and tells her although she made a mistake, she’s new to the job and she saved lives; that should count in her favour. Rita is grateful that someone is finally on her side and wishes she’d come to see Hilary earlier. Hilary agrees, Rita should come and see him more often…
