Kuljit’s pounding the streets of London trying to track down Uncle Gurmail. After dozens of doors slamming in his face he finally finds the right address. The man who answers the door is guarded when Kulijt asks if he is Gurmail. When Kuljit mentions Auntie Rajvinder though, the man becomes hostile. It’s obvious it is Gurmail and that there’s no love lost between him and Rajvinder. Kuljit quickly fills him in. Gurmail is astonished at Rajvinder’s lies and tells Kuljit that he’s never even met Amrit, Rajvinder paid for him to come to England to help with her business. Gurmail is reluctant to get involved at first but when Kuljit tells him he only needs to give a written statement he willingly obliges.
Rita is fretting about the trouble she’s in. Pradeep tries to help, suggesting she looks for a new job, or she could take some time off. Rita isn’t receptive to his ideas, she already has a job and intends to try and keep it. Pradeep won’t let it go though, he doesn’t think its worth risking Rita’s life just for a job. Rita is sure Pradeep just wants to stop her from doing something she loves. She shouts at him that there’s more to her than just being a wife and mum.
Later at work Pradeep confides in Mani looking for support. Mani thinks Pradeep is over-reacting and that he should have more faith in Rita. At the same time Rita gets a phone call from PC Higgins. He tells her he’s had to file a report about the incident and that she’ll be suspended. He tries to reassure her that everyone makes mistakes and that she probably saved Deepak’s family. Rita is inconsolable though and as soon as she puts the phone down she breaks down and sobs.
