Rita’s nervous about attending a college careers fair and seeks Jas’s advice on her outfit. Jas reassures her she’ll be fine, after all she’s used to dealing with a bunch of teenagers! At the fair Rita bumps into Zak but she barely recognizes him. He’s changed so much, growing his beard and dressing in Islamic dress. He tells Rita a group of them have decided to show the college authorities they are not hiding away just to suit them. He puts a stack of leaflets about a protest meeting on Rita’s stand. She tells him he can’t leave them because they haven’t been vetted by the police. Zak reacts angrily, they are not doing anything wrong so why can’t the police just leave them alone. Rita is shocked by his outburst.
Sway anxiously waits for a text from Nadia, she said she’d let him know when she got to the test centre. He shows Mani the flowers he’s got her, expecting her to pass. Finally Nadia rings after her test. She tells Sway how horrible the examiner was. Assuming the worst Sway quietly puts the flowers in the bin and starts to console her. Nadia laughs and excitedly lets him know she’s only teasing, she’s passed! Luckily Rita pops in to the Parkside with some leaflets and helps Sway rescue the flowers. She tells Sway about her strange encounter with Zak. It gets Sway thinking he tells Mani. Even if he goes through with converting to Islam for Nadia’s sake, her family will never accept him. If Zak is as radical as Rita says they’ll never see eye to eye. Nadia thinks her family are coming round slowly but Sway is worried that sooner or later she’s going to have to make a choice, it’s either her family, or him…..
