Jaggy and Kesar are having a whale of a time playing football. Simran tries to calm Kesar down, she doesn’t want him over-excited when her parents arrive. She’s annoyed by Jaggy’s perfect son-in-law act, he’s behaving as if they are a couple again. Simran reminds him, this is a temporary arrangement. Jaggy takes no notice though and continues to play up to Surinder and Pritam. Surinder notices that Simran isn’t herself and doesn’t think it’s only the fire that’s upset her. Surinder suspects that it might have something to do with Pete. She quizzes Jaggy who doesn’t take much persuasion to spill the beans. Simran’s livid when her mum tackles her about Pete and she realises what Jaggy has done. Surinder thinks that even Jaggy is preferable to Pete, a Gora! Simran’s father will be devastated. Simran begs her mum not to tell him, for Kesar’s sake, but Surinder refuses to lie for her. When they are alone again Simran lets rip at Jaggy for interfering in her life.
Sean encourages Pete to invest in some new equipment for the gym, he should be able to afford it with all the new members he’s got from the ‘Beyond the Sofa’ sessions. Pete puts Sean straight on that score and shows him the names on the list, they include ‘Donald Duck’ who’s signed up for weight lifting. Pete tells Sean he should lighten up on his gran, he wouldn’t be so quick to condemn her if he knew both sides of the story. This gets Sean thinking and he decides to pay Rita a visit to try again to find out who his dad is. This puts Rita in a difficult position, as she tells Sean about all Siobhan’s many boyfriends it soon becomes clear that Rita has no idea who Sean’s dad is! Sean takes the news badly. He storms out declaring, AD was right after all, his mum was just a slapper!
