Sameer listens to a voicemail message from Rozena as he parks up outside the Jilanis. Rozena says she is on her way to the police station to tell them everything and asks if he can come over. She also requests that he doesn’t tell her mum and dad. Mushtaq comes out of the house but Sameer says he has to dash off again. Rozena needs another legal opinion on something to do with the fire and is at the police station. He declines Mushtaq’s offer to accompany him and assures him it’s nothing to worry about.
Rozena is telling the police Imran tried to protect her from Mickey that night. She couldn’t come forward before because she felt ashamed. The interviewing officer tells her to take her time and tell them everything. Sameer is told he can’t see Rozena until the interview is over but the sergeant agrees to send in a note to let them know her husband is here.
Rozena details everything that happened. She describes how Mickey came at Imran with a knife and got stabbed accidentally. The officer says everything has been recorded and will be presented to the Crown Prosecution Service but it isn’t over yet. Rozena faces a lot more interviews and it’s going to get tough. Rozena should also consider counseling to help her deal with the attempted rape. Can they set up an appointment for her?
Sameer is pacing when Mushtaq calls to find out what’s happening. He isn’t convinced by Sameer’s claim that it’s something routine to do with the fire. Sameer spots Rozena and tells Mushtaq he’ll call back. Sameer hugs Rozena as she explains how she couldn’t hide the truth anymore. She has even agreed to professional help. Rozena wants Sameer to tell her parents as she can’t face doing that herself and requests that he take her home.
