Later Kuljit goes to church with the family to watch Rachel and her dad do a musical number. They bump into an old friend of Rachel’s who wants to know all the details about Kuljit. She invites them both to go to the beach later. While Rachel catches up with her friend, her mum corners Kuljit. to thank him for persuading Rachel not to leave her job and come home. Bemused, Kuljit wonders what on earth she’s talking about.
Later at the beach Kuljit tackles Rachel about what her mum said to him. He wants to know why she didn’t talk to him about it. Rachel says that’s easier said than done. He’s always got time for everyone else, his dad, Sway, the solicitor, but never for her.
Krishan is acting as Jas’s secretary, fielding calls from a persistent Vinnie. When he’s had enough he announces he’s going carol singing. Jas is confused, who goes carol singing on Boxing Day, but Krishan reckons he’ll do better today – there’ll be no competition! It’s not as successful as he hoped though, and as another neighbour’s door slams in his face he gets a fright when a familiar face suddenly appears from the darkness.
Back at home Krishan counts his takings from the carol singing. Jas comes up to call him for tea and is surprised the amount of money on his bed. She refuses to believe he made it carol singing and demands to know where he got it. Krishan can’t tell though, he made a promise……
