Kuljit can’t wait to phone Jodie, eager to share the dirt on Vinnie. As he hangs up Vinnie appears and quickly assures Kuljit how smoothly everything has gone in his absence. Just then Vinnie notices Mary and hurries over before she has a chance to drop him it about the oven disaster He’s shocked when Mary demands £120 compensation for lost food takings while Vinnie had her microwave. Kuljit is irritated by Vinnie’s reluctance to show him the bills from last week. He gets his own back by letting Vinnie know, in front of Jodie, he’s found out Vinnie’s childhood nickname. He delights in telling Jodie that ‘Mokta’ means Vinnie was a little fatso!
Meanwhile Pervaiz asks a favour, he wants Kamal to talk to Nadia. The only thing is Kamal mustn’t tell her they’ve asked him to do it. Kamal’s in an awkward position, he’s uncomfortable about spying on his friend but he also feels obliged to the Akhtars. He decides to go and see Nadia but he’s too honest to lie to her and tells her that Pervaiz sent him. Nadia is angry with her parents but Kamal tries to explain they want to know how she is because they care about her.
Sway has a handover meeting with Syed at the centre. He uses the opportunity to ask Syed’s advice. Sway’s conversation with his friend Qasim last week started him thinking about the possibility of converting to Islam, for Nadia. Syed tells him that it’s a really big step and Sway should only consider it if he’s doing it for the right reasons. It’s a lifelong change, but if Sway is serious Syed offers to help. He takes Sway to an Islamic bookshop and recommends some essential reading. Sway is overwhelmed by the amount of information, and this is just the start………….
