Have your say
The Giani from the Gurdwara visits Amrit, and Kuljit tells him that his father will be a great asset to them. The Giani says they’re keen to, but they want to make sure Amrit’s not taking on too much too soon. He can start gradually. Kuljit’s delighted, but Amrit says they cut his beard in hospital, so the Giani tells him he’ll need to have a re-baptism. They agree that this can happen very soon, as Amrit’s been in every week and is secure in his faith.
Bill comes to Mary’s to pick her up for Harry’s funeral, and Sean’s just up having had a late night working at the shelter. Bill’s please with how Friday night’s shaping up, but Sean is concerned that the money won’t get to small charities like his, and is quite short with him. Mary apologises for his missionary zeal, but Bill doesn’t mind, he likes commitment. In church they find a lot of common ground – the priest had christened all their children and talked them both through various crises over the years. But both are very happy to leave quickly after the service is over.
Meanwhile at Saffron Ray’s Jodie’s tells Kuljit how well he’s done with his dad and assures him that he’ll understand about the investigation. She’s more worried about her own dad’s growing confidence in Vinnie. Kuljit agrees, and they hope they can come up with a way of catching Vinnie out. To their surprise Mani comes up with a solution of his own, suggesting they drop Vinnie in at the deep end to manage on his own one day and see how he really copes. When Amrit comes in Kuljit is delighted that his Amrit Shakna is all set for Saturday, but his smile disappears when he learns that not only has Rajvinder been invited, but Amrit wants her to join them for a meal.
