Have your say
Roopa comes downstairs saying she doesn’t feel good, so Rita lets her go back to bed, much to Arun’s disgust. He thinks Rita is letting her skive. She says she wanted to give Roopa the benefit of the doubt. She asks Arun about Mindy. He coyly says they’re just hanging out, it’s nothing serious, but Rita teases him when he later refers to her as his ‘girlfriend’.
Bill’s showing Mary the posters he’s made for the 80’s night, and hands over an old photo he found of Mary and Sean. They agree her shoulder pads look great, and when she says she still has the suit he tells her she has the perfect outfit for the evening.
At the college Arun tries to tell Zak that he knows how he feels, as he’s been there when Jas was seeing Imran. Zak says Arun doesn’t get it, his family’s much more serious about their beliefs than Arun’s. He implies that Arun isn’t a real Hindu, saying he’s not really anything, and they start a fight. Their tutor separates them and talks to Zak in his office. He says his work’s suffering and asks if anything is bothering him – if he carries on this way he’ll waste all the hard work he did at the start. Zak assures him he won’t miss any more sessions, and the tutor mentions that he’s seen him with Zahir and a group of others. Zak is on the defensive and accuses the tutor of Islamaphobia. The tutor tells him he’s on thin ice.
Rita takes Roopa to the Golden Crown for lunch, and Roopa thanks her mum, and says she might like to try drama therapy. Mary and Rita are reminiscing about the 80’s when Arun walks in with a black eye. Rita demands to know who did it.
