Roopa and Rita discuss Arun and Mindy. Roopa reckons it was cheap to take her to bonfire night on their first date. They are interrupted by a call from Roopa’s therapist. Roopa later tells Jas the sessions are getting dull and she might invent stuff to make it more interesting. Jas tries advising Roopa but is told to concentrate on Nadia. Once Roopa leaves Jas tells Rita she can’t believe Nadia’s parents have abandoned her but Rita doesn’t seem sympathetic. Jas accuses her mum of taking sides but Rita says she can’t discuss this now.
Elsewhere Pervaiz gets a ticking off from Oliver for falling asleep on his shift. Oliver reckons he has had complaints about Pervaiz’s shabby appearance too. He is supposed to be a concierge not a scruffy caretaker. Pervaiz gets annoyed when Oliver suggests his wife has done a runner or is it his daughter? Is that why Pervaiz is in such a state? Oliver continues probing until Pervaiz has had enough and says he is off home. Oliver jokes about him going home to sharpen the knives.
Rozena tells Rita that she and Sameer have separated and that he is staying in a hotel because their families don’t know yet. Rita says they should tell them as it’s only a matter of time before they find out anyway.
Sway tells Syed about his relationship with Nadia and how he worries about it affecting his job at the centre like it did when people found out about Imran and Jas. Syed says this is different, it was worse for Imran because the Muslim/Hindu thing was a bigger deal. In a way it’s helping that Sway is black. A reassured Sway reckons he’ll go home and tell Nadia they aren’t important enough for people to get enraged about – except her parents that is…….
