Have your say
Its Arun’s 18th party and he’s arrived early to test out the sound system. Jas arrives with banners and balloons to decorate the club but Arun doesn’t want them, it’s not a kid’s party! Later as the guests start to arrive Jas notices Arun doesn’t look happy. He’s disappointed that Nadia and Sway haven’t turned up yet, they had planned to start early with a pre-party drink. Jas thinks that he’s missing someone else as well, and teases him that Mindy has stood him up. Hurt, Arun stomps off in a strop.
Nadia’s finding it tough fending off her mum’s constant questions about Arshad and finds refuge on the barge again with Sway. They both feel they can finally be themselves, and don’t have to put on any kind of act with each other. It just seems so right. Sway tells Nadia how much his family will like her. Nadia wishes her parents would be so cool about it but she knows she’s going to be in big trouble when they find out. She can’t put it off any longer though, she tells Sway she’s going to tell them tonight before her dad goes to work. Sway wants to go with her because she’s shaking, she’s so terrified. Nadia won’t let him but he tells her he’ll stand outside on the street. They walk to the Akhtars together. Sway tells Nadia if she can’t go through with it they could always run away to London, he’d look after her. He’s concerned what Nadia’s parents might do when they find out. Nadia is shocked when she realises what he’s thinking, about stories of honour killings. Her parents love her, she’ll be fine. Nadia steels herself, tells Sway to wait outside and lets herself into the house. It’s time to face the music!
