Arshad takes Nadia to an expensive restaurant. He’s reserved a special table overlooking a poor part of town where his family used to live. In the old days this restaurant was a cheap curry house and his father would take them for a treat. He would jokingly promise that one day all they could see would be theirs. Arshad is leading up to an important question, he tells Nadia he is making the same promise to her – will she marry him? Nadia tries to put him off protesting it’s too soon. Arshad knows it’s an excuse though and suspects she has feelings for Sway. Nadia quickly protests that Sway is just a friend but Arshad isn’t stupid, it’s been obvious to him for a while. It’s time Nadia came down to earth though and Arshad spells out what he’s offering her, a good life, a good marriage and happiness for their parents. He gives her until tomorrow to think about it. Nadia flees the restaurant in a panic. Sobbing she races down the towpath to Sway’s barge, he’s the only one who can help her now…..
