Kuljit and Rachel are in the café preparing for a rare day out together on the canals and Kuljit's in a frisky mood. Jodie and Simran watch them enviously. Simran wishes she and Pete could get some time alone together like that. But it's going to be even harder now, after hearing all that stuff about drugs and strip clubs in court Simran's not going to let Jaggy near Kesar.
Just before they set off Kuljit sneaks outside to phone the solicitors even though he'd promised Rachel he wouldn't. While he's away Rachel chats to Jodie about Mani's cousin's boy coming to work at the restaurant. Kuljit joins them overhearing their conversation. Kuls can't wait for Vinod to start, .... until Jodie innocently mentions that Vinod will be a manager, not the dogs body Kuljit had imagined. Kuljit is furious; convinced it's just a ploy to get rid of him. Jodie tries to reassure him that's not the case and says he should be more grateful to Mani for making his life easier.
Mohan is barely speaking to Jaggy. The only reason he's still around is because of Kesar. He sets off to track Simran down closely followed by Jaggy trying to stop him. They arrive at the café and spotting Kesar, Mohan rushes over. Jodie diplomatically suggests she stays with Mohan and Kesar so Simran and Jaggy can go outside to chat.
Outside Simran lets rip at Jaggy. He tries to explain that his dad just wanted a day with his grandson before he goes home but Simran puts him straight. Any arrangements they had are over now. She just can't trust Jaggy with Kesar anymore.
Later, on the narrow boat after a glass of wine Kuljit has calmed down and put things in perspective. The most important thing is getting Amrit's money back. It could mean a fresh start for Amrit ...and for Kuljit.
