Khatija calls Zak whilst he's on the way to an Islamic conference in London with Zahir. She wishes him a happy birthday, it's the first time he's spent his birthday away from them.
At the Parkside Centre, Neel and Sean are preparing for the charity auction. Sean is surprised to discover that he will be the auctioneer. They reckon they'll get a good turnout with different stalls there too and Sean comments that he's enjoying it all so much, it will be a shame when he goes to India again. Neel will put him in touch with a charity worker friend of his who will be able to give him some advice on how to get involved in charity work.
The conference hall in London is packed and Zak is surprised that its quite laid back. Zak spots Yusef just as the speaker, Zaheeda Begum begins to talk. Zaheeda talks about her background, how she became a journalist, went to cover the Iraq war and her eyes were opened to Islam. She became fascinated with the teachings of Mohammed and has been converted for 16 years where she's learnt compassion amongst other things.
At the auction, Sean starts the bidding with a silver teapot. Kamla and Khatija bid below the starting price and end up losing it. Amrit decides to walk off wanting to see the garden.
Zak and Yusef get chatting and Yusef talks about redeeming himself, he never thought he could change, he wishes more people could hear the speeches. Zak uses Kamal's example of how he's having a tough time in this country.
Kuljit finds Amrit who offers him ladoos which Kuljit has grown out of. Kamla and Khatija are watching from a distance and think Amrit's a mad man. Amrit starts getting upset, he's missed so much of his son's life. He starts shouting at Kuljit, insisting he buys him a ladoo. Sean goes to get Neel to calm him down whilst Kuljit pleads for him to stop shouting. He then starts throwing chairs around leaving Kuljit quite shaken up. When Neel coaxes him away to see the flowers, Kuljit apologises for his behaviour.
