Mushtaq goes round to Rozena's in order to ascertain whether all is well with Zenab and Imran and to check how Rozena's coping with the increased workload at the office. Rozena reassures her father that work is fine and Imran merely needed to clear his head over his relationship with Jas.
At the Golden Crown Pete tells Mary that Mani seems to have managed to temporarily dissuade Sean from attempting to track his dad down, much to their relief. Mary subtly voices her concerns to Pete about Simran but they fail to register. There are certain elements in this new partnership which remind her of Siobhan's situation and she is worried about Pete getting involved with someone with so much baggage.
Rozena tries to call Sameer but doesn't have any luck and leaves a message on his voicemail instead to apologise about being off last night. Frustrated she then tries calling Brian but gets his voicemail and leaves an agitated message.
Mushtaq pays Shazia a visit at the surgery asking if she fancies grabbing a coffee - he's enjoyed spending time with her this week. Shazia is a bit edgy, finally snapping at Mushtaq's persistence. Apologising, she explains that she's been feeling frustrated recently. Mushtaq is shocked to hear that neither Shazia's father nor her sons know about the violence she endured at the hands of her ex-husband. She confesses that she now feels angry at herself for being troubled at how close her sons are to their father - but she never felt it right to talk about it with them. She tells Mushtaq that he is the only other person who knows.
Zenab calls Rozena from Pakistan to report back on how Imran's doing. She tentatively broaches the subject of the attack and what happened to Rozena herself that night - but Rozena insists that she's fine and Zenab needs to focus on Imran now. Once she replaces the receiver Rozena breaks down momentarily but tells herself to pull herself together...
