When a letter addressed to Jas arrives, Pradeep takes the opportunity to pay her a visit at Imran's. She's surprised to see him and even more surprised when she opens the letter and finds she's passed her exams. Pradeep offers to make her a slap up lunch to celebrate; he hopes it might cheer Roopa up as well.
Pradeep dashes off to arrange a few days off from the restaurant. Unfortunately Kuljit has already started a charm offensive on Jodie. As the two of them bicker about who deserves the break most, Jodie announces that Pradeep can take the time off because he's organised cover properly. Later Jodie tries to smooth things over with Kuljit but he behaves like a sulky toddler. When Jodie points out that he hasn't always been employee of the month Kuljit accuses her of getting her boyfriend to spy on him and barges off in a strop.
Jas arrives home for her celebratory lunch to find Roopa glued to ' America 's Next Top Model' on the TV. Worried about the images of skinny girls being promoted as perfect specimens, Jas points out how unusual they are. Roopa's annoyed that Jas thinks she's too dumb to separate real life from a TV show. Pradeep arrives with pakore for lunch and Roopa immediately announces she has to go to her appointment with Dr Masud. Trying to keep things upbeat, Pradeep enthuses about Jas's results. Roopa tries to seem pleased and manages to convince Pradeep she's being positive but Jas can see through her act.
At her appointment, Roopa accuses Dr Masud of making things worse: now they all know what's been going on, everyone is treading on eggshells round her. She wishes everything would just go back to normal. Dr Masud encourages her to be open with her family but reassures her it's a choice she'll have to make for herself.
