The final Silver Street episode was broadcast on Fri 26 Mar 2010 and the final omnibus on Sun 28 Mar 2010
Wednesday 21st June 2006
Shazia and Mushtaq are engrossed in the football when the lads from Silver Street turn up shouting it's an emergency. Mushtaq bundles Shazia into the hallway cupboard and lets them in. The lads explain there has been a power cut and seeing as Mushtaq is alone they have decided to watch the game here.
Jodie's charity sale isn't going well and she makes a final attempt to sell bangles to Zenab who declines saying she needs to get back to Mushtaq. Indraneel remarks on how people panic over here. In India they are used to power cuts and it really isn't the end of the world. Later, Jodie accuses Indraneel of not appreciating her efforts but eventually calms down. She reminds Neel she is on his side and wants change too. She might start by changing him!
Mushtaq can't get rid of the lads as they are desperate to watch the match. Shazia tells him to go and find out the score but when he returns she says she has had enough of this and quietly leaves. Shazia bumps into Zenab outside and pretends she just arrived. Zenab is suspicious but her attention is soon diverted. She orders the lads out of the house and doesn't care if they miss the result.
In the pub Mary tells Bill she is going to kill Brian seeing as his workers caused the power cut. Bill suggests it's nice they get to spend some time on their own but Mary gets embarrassed. She needs to get to Jodie's sale but then changes her mind. The lights come back on just as Bill takes Mary by surprise and kisses her. He waits for a reaction but before Mary can say anything the lads burst in wanting to watch the football highlights....
