Mushtaq hasn't heard from Shazia since the Chelsea Flower Show so he gives her a call. She keeps getting interrupted by work but Mushtaq manages to tell her he's told Zenab she's free to go home. He also asks her if she'll be joining him to watch the World Cup. Shazia says she'll be watching it with her kids and Mushtaq is worried he's offended her somehow. Shazia tells him she's been through a painful marriage and has no intention of causing anyone else pain. Until he's sorted out the situation with Zenab they remain friends...
Mary runs into Rita in the street and asks how Roopa is feeling. Rita tries to change the subject - she sees Khatija's still working in the shop? Mary says Khatija's calling herself 'manager' now but as long as she works hard she doesn't really mind. Rita's phone rings and Mary leaves as she answers it. It's Pradeep, and Rita assures him she's on her way to see Dr Masud...
It's late morning, and the Golden Crown is already busy thanks to the new TV screen. Behind the bar, Mary teases Pete for getting dragged into the Centre's adventure week. She wants to know if Sean's asked any more questions about his father and Pete says he's bound to find out something sooner or later - secrets always come out. He comments on the number of times Mary keeps mentioning Bill and Mary goes all defensive - they're just friends!
Rita is furious by the time she arrives at the surgery and lets Dr Masud know exactly what she thinks about him keeping Roopa's condition a secret. Dr Masud tries to convince her Roopa has always been his primary concern. But, until Roopa gives permission, he can't go into the details of her condition. Rita's priority now should be to help Roopa get better. She's not a bad mother...
