Kamal is struggling to stay awake as he reads the Koran and Zak, who is visiting, tells him to give himself more time; it's just he's not up to yet. He'll go to wazu and finish it for Kamal...
Meanwhile, it's Khatija's first day at the newsagents and she's already acting on her own initiative; she's even rotated all the stock. Mary's overwhelmed by Khatija's enthusiasm and reminds her it's only a trial. Then she nips out for a break - from Khatija not the shop!
Kamal is woken by a man entering his room. Kamal is scared he's from Immigration but the man reassures him he's here to help...
...it's Kenny, Darren's dad. Kamal grabs for the emergency cord but Kenny pulls it away. He warns Kamal that going to court will make things worse for him...when he could make a break from it all with plenty of cash. He's offering Kamal five grand to do a disappearing act...
Roopa is buying a pile of crisps and magazines at the newsagents. Khatija quizzes her about why she needs so much and Roopa spins a lie about trying to keep Krishan quiet. Khatija advises her to get a multi-pack from the supermarket next time as it's cheaper and Mary is speechless - has Khatija been saying that to all the customers?
Krish comes into the shop later and Mary tells him Roopa's been in buying sweets. He rushes to the salon and Roopa has to lie again, saying it's all for the customers.
Zak arrives back at the hospital and when he realises who Kenny is he orders him to get out. Zak's really fired up and when he pulls the security alarm Kenny finally goes to leave...but not before he's written down his number. Zak shouts after him that Kamal won't be calling...
