Sway, Nadia and a group of protestors are outside the Crown Court, where Darren is having his first hearing. Sway admires everything Nadia's done for Kamal and seems disappointed she won't be at the Centre so much any more. Nadia is adamant there's still a lot to fight for. She asks Sway to visit Kamal with her later but he comes up with a lame excuse. Darren and his solicitor emerge onto the steps and the solicitor reads out a statement: Darren has pleaded not guilty and will continue to play football before the trial.
Meanwhile, Mary's surprised when Khatija walks into the pub, but it isn't a social call. Khatija's decided to get a job so she can support Nadia and she's heard there's an opening at the shop. Mary suddenly realises she 'urgently' needs Sean and disappears out the back!
Later, at the hospital, Kamal tells Nadia he'll soon be allowed home. Nadia is forced to admit he doesn't actually have a home to go to because the police raided it. Kamal is angry - with the system and with her. How could she do this to him? Nadia runs out in tears.
Mary returns to the bar to find Khatija's still there. Khatija lists all the reasons Mary should employ her and when she threatens to return day after day poor Mary gives in and agrees to give her a trial run in the shop.
Kamal's nurse has a word with Nadia and reassures her that Kamal's angry outbursts are just a side-effect of his injuries. Nadia goes back in to see him and Kamal wonders how he'll ever find his friends in his state. Nadia promises to do it for him but Kamal isn't comforted. Where is he going to live...?
