Kuljit finds his dad down at the boxing gym again. Pete says Amrit is good for the boys because he gives good advice. Kuls is impressed with how much respect the boys have for his dad and how much Amrit seems to understand them too but can they can go and get some dinner now please?
Jaggy picks a bad time to ask Simran if she has given any more thought to Kesar going to Bury with him. It would mean a lot to his sick Aunty. Simran has her hands full with the salon but promises Jaggy she will get back to him later. Jaggy phones Jinx and says he may persuade Simran to come too. She is more likely to agree to Kesar coming if she is there too. Jinx asks if Jaggy is seeing Simran tomorrow and Jaggy wonders what he is on about. Jinx tells him he's an idiot - its Simran's birthday.
As Jaggy leaves Roopa turns up asking if there is any work going. Simran could do with someone to answer phones and sweep up but says she'll check how many hours Roopa is allowed to do legally. Maybe then they could work out some hours after school and Saturdays. Simran wishes all her employers were this enthusiastic.
Later Rachel asks if Kuljit has decided what to do for his birthday? Kuls reckons he wants to keep it low key because he doesn't want to remind Amrit of all the birthdays he missed when he was in hospital. Rachel thinks it should be the opposite way round and actually it's even more special now that his dad is here again. It's up to him but if Rachel was Amrit she knows what she would prefer....
