Jaggy gets bad news from Jinx. Aunty Balbiro has taken a turn for the worse and wants to see Jaggy and the baby. Jaggy says he isn't in a position to make demands on Simran but Jinx tells him to try.
Simran runs into Rita who is buying Kamla medication for her cold. Rita makes a comment about juggling motherhood with a career and Simran says it isn't easy. Nadia won't come back and the agency temps are useless. She is going to have to sort something permanent out soon.
They walk down the street and laugh at the awful ornaments in a shop window. Rita says Krishan gave her one for Mothers Day and she hope she doesn't get another for her birthday today. Simran says it's her birthday soon and reckons Jaggy won't even remember it.
The police take a statement from Kamal who confirms Darren attacked him. The police also have an independent witness whose statement will help but the evidence against Darren is circumstantial. The best they can hope for is that the jury is convinced 'beyond reasonable doubt'.
Later Jaggy tells Simran about Aunty Balbiro wanting to see Kesar. He asks Simran to consider letting him take Kesar to Bury and she agrees to think about it.
Elsewhere Nadia calls MP Malik's office wanting to know who she can contact to ensure Kamal's case gets to court. The assistant David tells her to take it one step at a time. If Kamal is to go through a trial he is going to need all his strength and Nadia's too. Nadia says she has been there since the beginning and isn't going anywhere now...
