There are journalists outside Darren's flat wanting to talk to Jaggy. Then the phone rings and Jaggy thinks it is more press but it turns out to be Kenny. He tells Jaggy he has to convince the police Darren isn't racist. How could he be when he and Jaggy are friends? Jaggy ends the call saying he has left the bath running and immediately gets a call on his mobile and it turns out to be another journalist. Jaggy switches the phone off - he needs to get some air.
Going outside proves to be a mistake as Jaggy is mobbed by journalists wanting to know if the Kamal beating was a racist attack. Jaggy retreats back inside and his mobile rings again. This time it's Tina calling from the end of the street. What on earth is going on? Jaggy pleads with her to come over and suggests she walk round the back to avoid the press.
Tina reckons Jaggy has made things worse by staying in the flat and Darren is taking advantage of him. He should go to his parents but Jaggy says he can't face them. Tina instructs him to pack a bag saying she is driving him to the station herself. Later, Jaggy puts on the car radio to hear a bulletin about the attack saying the police are not ruling out the possibility of it being racially motivated.
At the station Jaggy stalls for time but Tina is having none of it. The next train is in five minutes and he is getting on it before he changes his mind. She tells him to make the effort when he gets to Bury and to do some serious soul searching. As the train pulls away she quietly hopes it helps.....
go home, whatever. Maybe she's right, says Jaggy. He'll think about going home...
