Rachel is walking home from the supermarket along the canal. She bumps into Sway and he can see she isn't herself, so he invites her on board for coffee.
Jas calls Arun to check how Roopa is doing. Arun says she's being bright and breezy in front of their parents but he doesn't believe her. And he hasn't seen her eat anything today. He says he's still taking the all the flack but he'll put up with it for Roops.
Roopa, meanwhile, is on the way to her next class. She runs to catch up with Mr Keating and tries to impress him with stories of Glasgow , boasting that she got mistaken for a second year student! Mr Keating humours her at first but she soon loses his attention. She searches for him again after school and follows him to his car, dropping big hints about Valentine's cards: did he send any by any chance? Toying with her, Mr Keating refuses to give a straight answer and Roopa takes that as a yes. She immediately calls Bina to tell her the news...
Over coffee, Rachel admits to Sway she didn't walk past by accident - she needed a chat. She's worried Kuljit keeps leaving other people to care for Amrit but how can she tell him that?
Pradeep is also concerned. He corners Kuljit after the lunchtime rush to tell him he's worried about Amrit's well-being and when Rachel gets home Kuls tells her he's cutting Amrit's hours in the restaurant. In a round-about way Rachel tries to tell Kuljit it's him that should be spending more time with his dad, but Kuljit just gets defensive. Isn't it him that's there for Amrit when he wakes confused in the night?
