It's Roopa's birthday and Pradeep has baked a cake as a treat. Rita has sent a text to say she will ring tonight. Roopa says she'll take the food to school and will celebrate properly when her mum gets back.
At the course centre Rita and her colleagues are outside getting briefed for a police and interpreter role play session. Richard knows it is cold but the whole point is to train them properly. This way when it happens for real they will have a fighting chance of being ready.
Roopa is throwing up in one of the school toilets when Bina turns up saying Mrs Hayes wants to see her. Roopa wishes she would leave her alone. Later the girls decide to play truant and go shopping but Roopa gets upset in a store when she tries something on and Bina suggests she needs a bigger size.
Richard gives Rita her role play scenario. He invites Dharmesh to play a potential suicide victim and tells Rita her job is to talk him out of it. The whole scene gets emotional but in the end Rita persuades Dharmesh not to jump. The group applaud and Richard tells her she passed with flying colours. Rita's confidence is restored and she even agrees to buy the first round in the bar later.
Later Richard admits he misjudged Rita but their chat is interrupted by a call from Pradeep. He can't believe she is in a bar but says he doesn't want to stop her getting drunk and hangs up on her. Rita tells Karen it's almost like he doesn't want her to be successful. Her new mates remind her they are here to celebrate her success and Rita agrees. Pradeep can wait......
